Stone meaning: Lapis lazuli, or lapis for short, is a deep-blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense color. In Egyptian culture, Lapis is an integral part of art and ancient history. First used in the Predynastic Period to make beads, amulets, and scarabs, this mesmerizing stone has been found in the tombs of ancient Egyptian kings and queens from early dynasties. These stones were purchased on my magical trip to Egypt. After soaking in the vibrant art and history and the beautiful nature, I knew I had to immortalize the trip in the form of this dazzling necklace, and it's coordinating ring and earrings.
